Kimball School was fortunate to have Markus Tracy return for a 3 week Artist in Residence visit. He led our youth in creating an amazing mural representing both historical and present-day components of the Kimball area.
PK thru 4th grade met with him several times during his stay. They were able to work on a variety of small projects.
5th thru 7th grade focused on the research, discussion and planning of the mural. Students in grades 5-12 had opportunity to work hands-on creating the mural. This mural will be placed on the Christiansen Land and Cattle building on Main Street next to the previous mural also completed with Mr. Tracy and Kimball School students.
We thank Mr. Tracy for sharing his talents with our students! We also would like to thank the South Dakota Arts Council for their program that makes this possible for our school.
